Really Bad Hen

Wow, a lot you have some really nasty hens! I wouldn't keep a mean hen, I don't want to get hurt or the kids to get bit. All mine are super friendly and love to sit in my lap.

I think I'd eat the mean hen, then buy a couple more to integrate with the flock with.

The rooster is nice and does his job but he was tearing up my hens, and even holding on to their face to do the deed. So I think they would equal eachother out.

These stories are great! I try to use the mean ones for a soccer ball. We have a Bantam Cochin pullet who rules the roost in our flock. She will turn on the LF Ameraucana roosters and try to cock fight them if they come on to her.

They all run from her! Well, all but the little Cochin roo we got to mate her with... He will chase her all day long trying to mount her!

He's the only roo who isn't afraid of her. She gets along great with the other pullets, and our family, too! She is just a sweety pie!

She will walk right up to us and start singing that soft little pullet song.

Your stories make me smile:D! When we first got chickens, I ordered White Leghorns. Talk about MEAN!!!! Wow! They'd chase my kids around the yard. Needless to say, they didn't last long. Buff Orpingtons are pretty easy going. I think they're my favorite as far as being mild mannered. A mean chicken in our coop ends up being chicken soup!

We had a very vicious rooster once when i was 3. His name was Gomer and I think he was a White Leghorn. We raised him from the egg and once he got his spurs he would go after anyone that came near him. I remember when we let him out of the run into the yard he would chase me and my brothers and if he caught us he would peck, scratch, and spur us. Talk about a jerk! I think we gave him away to some meat farmers

If she were mine I'd put pinless peepers on her and clip her wings if to flaps/launches when chasing other hens.

My hens steal from my dogs bone WHILE he's chewing it, if he growls my RIR flaps up then kicks him in the head. Then they all keep sharing the bone lol

She is making him mind his manners while snacking.

She's done it ever since he was a pup, he's a 40kilo Golden retriever now so it's just funny seeing a 1.5kilo hen boss him around lol
