I know that I have posted this topic before on my large picking problem in the coop, but it seems to have gotten worse!

it started out with only one of my birds being picked by my "top of the pecking order" rhode island red. on my ee, there was originally vent picking, but now there is picking between her body feathers and her tail feathers, which has also progressed into my second ee. I used to have another rir that was inflicted, but also picking as well, but less severe, but she passed away. (not because of the picking.) now, I am left with three chickens, one the pecker, and two of them affected. I have used blukote on the affected areas, but the pecking has not ceased.

I have been told that it is because of the protein, or too little space, but I plan to add on to my coop soon, so that cannot be a problem for long. the protein part, I just do not know how to get extra protein into their diets without changing feed. should I try TSC pick-no-more??
I really need help and suggestions!

Try putting up a second feeder... sometimes it’s resources that they pick over.. also, TSC or a Lowes has meal worms for protein .. scrambled egg bits also... hope this helps... RI Reds can be difficult

I know, they can be hard, and definitely aggressive!:barnie

thank you for the advice!!
