We just rescued this girl earlier in the week. Took me a few days to figure out what was going on (I'm a pretty new chicken owner) but I'm assuming this is scaley leg mites. Besides walking "gently", she seems to be fine. Is there a point at which you can't treat this? This seems pretty bad :(. Any help would be appreciated! I am going to start soaking her legs in warm soapy water, gently brush off what I can and coat her in Vaseline or bag balm. I'll clean out the coop and coat it in DE, anything else anyone can suggest?

Thank you in advance!

Keep her isolated from any other chickens you have (if you are not already doing so ) as the leg mites can infest the rest of your flock too.

I've seen worse in this forum, I would just soak and coat like you said. Give it a little time too, eventually new healthy scales will appear.
