I am shocked to learn chicken can survive in temps like this. Being a new chicken owner I started out providing my chickens with heat but have since disconnected it and plan to use it only in case of emergencies. I only have two chickens but they spend the night huddle together and seem to mind the cold much less that I do. It did after all get down to 42 F here last night. Sorry everyone else is having to deal with such bad weather this winter.
