REALLY noisy chickens... all day long!

I had 3 Ameraucanas and they were kind of averagely noisy - squawking to be let out in the morning, letting us know they laid an egg or a squirrel was bothering them.

I got a couple more about 2 years ago (different breed) and one of them is SO LOUD. We thought it was a rooster until it started laying. Now I have her and 2 Ameraucanas (RIP other 2) and she has trained them all to be so loud. They roam the whole yard but spend most of the morning and off/on the rest of the day squawking about nothing. I'll go out to see what's the matter and they're just wandering around or hanging out in the compost.

I find it mildly annoying but we live in the inner city and have 4 neighbors within just a few feet. Worse, now that we're all working from home it's driving my husband nuts. I read about spraying them with water, which I had been doing to try to keep them off our patio (they hang out on it all day and it's covered in poop) and it hasn't had much effect. I imagine ignoring the behavior would be the other option but normally 5 days/week no one is here to respond to it and that hasn't stopped them.

Any ideas? I keep thinking the older 2 won't last much longer - they're 6 years old now and at least one is still laying. But the loud one is the youngest...

I have found there is nothing that stops a chicken from being noisy. Spraying them with water doesn't change chickens minds (sometimes I see my chickens standing in the run during a major thunderstorm 😁 ). Chickens are really stubborn and I say it again, you can't change a chickens mind on being noisy.

That's what I figured... unfortunately my kids love the younger chicken... "freckles" sigh!
