really quick can someone help me???

what is the name of the tree that has those weird pink whispy flowers..they are really fuzzy and are pink and pinkish white..the tree isnt that tall either..its not a dog wood or a cherry tree..it has fern like branches. i am trying to tell a funny story and it involves one of these stupid trees!

nooo....its sort of a small but wide tree...the flowers seriously look like fink fuzzy skirts when you turn them upside down...and when it rains they stick to everything and get all gross.

Then what do I have?

It's on the corner of my property under a tree...I don't know what it is? It comes up in shoots all in that corner and it's branches are fuzzy brown...like a cats arm.

There used to be a prairie field behind us before it got developed.

Ok...just went out and looked....it's sprouting all over that corner (meaning up from the ground all over--more than one tree thingy?), it's low (meaning I'm taller that it and I'm just over 5 feet

)...the old branches are like regular wood, not all that thick...size of an arm?...the new branches are fuzzy. The leaves are, for the lack of a better word, like ferns.
