really???? roost question

    so why do ALL my chickens feel the need to roost on the same board? I built them two very nice roosts.... but do they care? NOOOOOO.... it was bad enough when it was only 8 trying to cram themselves together, but now there are nine and it is just too much! Looks like I am going to be revamping the roost system... again.

    Yeah, just wait until they all cram into one nest box, too.

    They cram themselves close as they can to feel secure. Kinda like a chicken hug. [​IMG]

Will be making it longer this weekend, with any luck as they are getting bigger now and it is too tight for all of them. The lower roost just gets used as a jumping up step to the top one. And, the lower roost is the long one, naturally. Did not know anything about chicken behavior at the time. It is a learn as you go process at times.
