Really tough but soft dog toys?

the skinneez toys are a FAVORITE around here...
my male cresties FAVORITE toy is his large fox, its bigger than him, after 2 years theyve finally managed to kill 1 onf the 2 squeekers, he takes this thing anywhere i will let him, particularly to bed with him.

our cocker has a large racoon, charlie is a toy KILLER, his greatest joy in life is popping then ripping out the squeekers, hes had his for almost 2 yrs now, and while the squeeker was popped a long time ago hes still not managed to rip it out.
his other favorite is a new style of skinnez we picked up a couple of weeks ago...this one has a velcro closing "pouch inside, and in it is stuffed a plastic bottle..
charlie LOVES bottles, loves to crunch them, so we thought this could be cool, he LOVES it...the bottle can simply be replaced when he finally destroys it.

the other favorites around here are the AKC toys...i dont see them standing up to serious play, but weve got a couple and while the squeekers are dead, the stuffies themselfes are only missing an ear or a nose...lol.

Tuffies pet toys. They are remarkably durable. Pit bull tested and approved. I will say though that they are so durable that my dogs don't get the same de-stuffing glee from them. I have the ring and sting ray and they are mostly whole still a few years later.

Try Orbee balls instead. They don't squeak, but I haven't met a dog that could resist chomping on them, something about their sorta soft squishy texture ---- OR had a dog kill them! I know it has happened (have read on other forums) but they are JRT and Labmonster tested and approved around here.

I bought a bunch of dog toys for my dogs at Christmas, some were the "no stuffing" ones. The very best one, and the only one they haven't destroyed is the Kong stuffed teddy bear. I plan on getting more of these---although one of the bigger pet supply stores in my area doesn't even have it. I got this one at Petware House----don't know if there is one near you----you could probably order them online.

Notice I talk about Jax being the one to do all the toy killing? It occured to me the other day that Kane has never had a stuffed or soft toy, except for the one I sent him while he was still at the breeders. By the time Kane joined our family Jax had already destroyed every soft toy in the house and we haven't bought more. Kane has had to make do with kongs and the hardest nylabone made.

My Dh and I stand in the pet store and yank on them (he grabs the tail and I'll grab the head) we only buy if it'll pass the 10 second pull (which means with supervision they'll last about 10 min.

) I have mini doxies and they can gut a small stuffed animal in 10 seconds flat. They even destroyed a black kong in about 15 min.
