I just realized that my dad(since I left him to take care of the incubator while I'm away) hadn't added any warm water lately to the bowl in our homemade bator. So I immediately called him and he told me it was a little less than 30% humidity, which is what we have had it for most of incubator(we are doing dry incubation). But he was suppose to add more to get it up to at least 60%.
The bad part is that it's been like this and one of our eggs(Amer./Cochin) is now on day 21-22!

It hasn't hatched yet.

So my dad filled the water bowl all the way up with warm/hot water.

I'm thinking about having my dad drive the incubator over so I can have it here with me.

I may have killed the chick by not adding enough water for humidity.

HELP!

I'm really unsure of what to do;

what if it's stuck in the egg because of low humidity????

What if it's pipped and is stuck????

I'm thinking of calling my dad and asking him to drive it down here, but would that make it worse?(since it's over an hour drive, which means the temp. will drop a lot)

This egg came from a black Amer. pullet and a Splash Cochin rooster, so I really want it to hatch; if it doesn't and I crack it open to find a fully formed chick that pipped but died from little humidity, I'm seriously going to cry!

I don't think I would have him drive it to you. Like you said the drive will affect the temp and humidity. At this point, I would just give it a day or two and see what happens.

You said you were hatching just one egg? That could be your problem, it could of been a dud. . . Next time use more just to make sure some hatch.

No, I'm not just hatching on egg. This is the only egg planned to hatch right now; the rest are either in the turner or on day 18, since it's a staggered hatch. And it's not a dud; I candled on day 18-19 and saw that the entire egg was dark, had some veins, and was moving a little.

Oh, so this was the only one planning to hatch right now...

Well it's a dud now. . .

How? But isn't a dud an egg that you incubate but isn't fertile, making it a dud???
