Mumakai smiled, then winced at the pain and the aching of his back. So that's what it feels like, old memories. They hurt too much to smile...
(Mumakai has a long history, even though he is a young man)

huh, I've heard of it but thought "trash". Some I like because of their storyline(Star wars: the clone wars, dragons: riders of berk, Ninjago: masters of spinjitzu(more ninja-ing and pure hilariousness), Legends of Chima, etc.), some because They're plain old hilarious(angry birds toons, etc.), some because(I have no I dea why the heck), and some just because I'm curious.

Mumakai gasped for air, and then was knocked back into unconsciousness..
The flames were swirling around him, obviously the doings of a fire ninja. his bed was beginning to blacken, the flames licking at his blanket. "Mommy?" he cried into the darkness. "Mommy? come out of there!" but his words were unanswered. Suddenly, An evil black figure was visible amidst all the smoke and fumes.
"Glad you could join me," the figure mocked.
"Who are you?" he asked.
"The terror of your life!" the figure threw the young boy's parents into the flames at the foot of his bed, then turned to the ninja beside him. "gather the troops. we leave for Seldean at once."
"NOOOOOOOOO!" the boy screamed. "MOMMY?! DADDY?! PLEASE! why won't you answer me?" he had never known such pain before.
"It's because that's what life is like, sorrow, pain, and death!" The figure turned and stopped at the door of the little cottage. "and you're in the middle of it."
"Mommy," the boy was in tears. "Why?" Then, the flames caught onto his foot, and then to his leg, spreading to his hips. The boy screamed and dove out the window into a water bin. he looked at his surroundings. Dark ninja surrounded him, one for each element, and one for the pure darkness of evil. "Who are you?" the boy asked.
The ninja laughed cruelly at him. "This is what happens when people don't do what Lord Greymon wants!" one spat. another, a ninja of earth, walked up to him and put his hand on his shoulder. "Don't worry kid," he said sympathetically, "It'll all turn out fine." Then he stabbed his sword into the earth and the boy fell down into a cave, screaming for the help that he knew wouldn't come. Suddenly a hand reached out into the darkness and grabbed him, swinging him up to the surface again.
"C'mon," the young girl said, "we need to get the h*$& out of here."
The two ran and ran untill they were both knocked out from hunger and fatigue...
..."So what now?" The girl asked him. "Mumakai, what are we going to do next?"
"I don't know," the confident young man said, but then assured her, "We're going to find shelter soon, I promise. Everything will be alright"...
..."NOOOOO!" The young man gasped amidst the pressure of the vines. "NOOO! I can't let this happen again! Don't do it!"
"Mumakai, trust me! I am doing this to save you." The young woman took her enchanted katana and slashed the vines, the poison spitting all over her. "AGH!" she screamed, "GO MUMAKAI! go save the world for me." she began to fade into the Nether World. "I love you," she whispered.
"I love you too," the heartbroken Mumakai broke down as she disappeared from the world of mortals. All that remained was her Silk Belt, an enchanted item that withstood the powers of death, the last remembrance of the ones he loved. Mumakai sat still for an hour. then he decided, "I will go and learn what she knew, have what she had, be who she was. A ninja." The scowl on his face was a scowl that wouldn't be erased, wouldn't be forgotten, wouldn't ever let him know pure joy again. And it was because he had failed to realize what was true in the Realm as long as evil existed.
"Darkness has the upper hand, and will do whatever it can to keep itself in that position."
(I almost had myself in tears)
Mumakai bolted upright. He was drenched in sweat, his chest pounding. He looked at Eva and the oh-so familiar scowl appeared on his face. Greymon. Mumakai hated him. He grabbed the silk belt and grasped it like it was his source of life.

At the top of the thread click on preferences, uncheck the box that says remove nested quotes.
