The dump does have a recycle barrel for cooking oil, I use it and it is FREE.

What gets my goat the most is Rachel Carson use to summer here. What would she think?????

They dumped oil that many companies are now turning into biofuel. They could probably find someone that will come and get it at no cost. There are many small businesses around her that refine it iinto fuel sell it ans make a good profit. Maybe the EPA will straighten out the mess and guide them to a better solution for disposing of the oil. You did the right thin by calling. Be proud you protected the environment.

I have not read this thread all the way through, so if yo have resolved this please accept my apologies. You need to call the health department. As soon as they are on the line give them the same "message" that lots of folks give, you know the one, "this message is being recorded to insure that blah blah blah". Then inform them that if they dont do their job that you "and your recording" are going to talk to the local papers. Inform them that if the local paper dont work, you are going to call the TV media. That resturarant is a company and companies have a duty to dispose of waste properly.

They are missing an opportunity to make diesel fuel with the grease anyway. Maybe you could make the diesel fuel for your tractor. I dunno. Please dont let them get away with that. Its going to attract animals that like to eat chickens.
