Hi guys and gals

Me and my family rescued some battery hens over a month ago, none of them showed any signs of illness. However yesterday, 8/8/15 one of my chickens fell out of her nest box and got stuck in the rungs, she flapped and eventually got out. However she promptly got into another nest box and stayed there for the whole day. This morning she was dead, in her sleep. She had pure white poo out of her vent. She hadn't grown alot if feathers and she was alot smaller than the other chickens.

Any ideas what this is? Should I be worries for my other birds?

Any response will be greatly appreciated. :)

Battery hens are often sold or given away once they reach the end of their useful egg laying life. She may have just been old and worn out. If none of the others are looking off and are responding to your good care, I wouldn't do anything.

thanks for the swift reply, that's what I was thinking, and the rest are all fine and responding well. Guess she was just tired.
