So Cargill & Purina manufacture Dumor for TSC?
This is not a recall for moldy feed. The aflatoxin is produced by molds that infest the corn when it is inthe field.Moldy feed from TS. MY 4th bag of feed from tractor supply was a moldy clump of feed of course it was the stuff at the bottom of the feed bag so I feed my chickens bad feed before hitting the bottom of the bag. I was very mad that it was feed to my chicks but could do nothing about it by the time I found it out.
Thanks, didn't know the two were hooked up. I knew I didn't want to go back to Purina! Not on the same subject, but my local organic no soy mash has been getting more powdery (?) and dirty, so I had to make a decision between two other feed outfits. One is a feed store & carries Purina & Nature's Best Organic. I love Nature's Best, but at $35 a bag, it's not in the cards right now. The other is a local feed mill that has been in business for over 100 years. Just decided to go get their 18% game bird & turkey breeder for my chickens. I already feed it to the guineas. It has animal protein and costs $14.15/50lbs. The other store only carries Purina Game Bird and they only get the no animal protein version! It is around $18/50. I will try not to think about the GMO stuff and see how they do for a month. Sure can't beat the price.Cindy I knew Purina made Dumor but from a quick web search it appears Purina and Cargill may be owned by the same people (Nestles). It seems to make a difference which country it is in too. I'm not going to spend any more time looking at how they are interconnected, but it seems they are. Even if they are not owned by the same people here in the US, they may license each other to make feeds.
If you look deep into it I think you will find that Purina Mills (livestock feed co.), Cargill, Nutrena, Agway, ACCO and Land-O-Lakes are all sister companies.Cindy I knew Purina made Dumor but from a quick web search it appears Purina and Cargill may be owned by the same people (Nestles). Actually Purina and Land O'Lakes/Purina are brands/subsidiaries of Land O'Lakes cooperative, a Minnesota based farmer-owned cooperative. If you look deep into it I think you will find that Purina Mills (livestock feed co.), Cargill, Nutrena, Agway, ACCO and Land-O-Lakes are all sister companies.
Now Purina (pet food) is owned by Nestle.
