Received a complaint- no chickens?

It's also possible that he was the unhappy neighbor impersonating a zoning officer in hopes of scaring you into getting rid of your chickens. If you haven't received any info by now, I'd say that you're in the clear, especially since you already checked the zoning laws.

Should have told him to go *&* himself. If he comes back delay coming to the door and say your sorry you were cleaning your gun.

If you recieve no letter .....wait it out.
If he shows up again ask for Identification... He has to show it., he is an officer of the law.! His vehicle should be parked out front with the appropriate decal on the door. If not then tell the person sorry your an imposter and close the door and call the authorities stating someone was impersonating an officer.
You should be able to go online to your local code enforcement site and there should be a list of your officers with badge numbers and pictures.
Best senerio your roo is gone and you get no more complaints. Worse you end up asking your ordinance office for date and time of complaint and if the person says his / her complaint was due to a rooster then you tell them when you got rid of him. Chances are there are no more reports because he is gone.
