I'm looking for some help locating which cities and towns have in the past year or two changed their laws and ordinances to permit backyard chickens.

I've got Fort Collins, Colo., and Brainerd, Minn.

If you know of one, feel free to respond. I'm a reporter for the Fort Collins Coloradoan, and I'm writing a story for USA Today.

State College PA just did it Dec 2.....it's the post below this one!

South Portland, Maine revised their ordnances to allow chickens in September 2007.

My town (Westwood, MA) did it in (I think) 2004 so this has been going on for a while now.

Gulfport, FL city council just voted last night to allow ten chickens, no roosters! It was the first reading of the ordinance, but it's going to go through.

Trevor, great to see you on here! It's been good talking with you and I'm excited to see read your article when it is released.

As you can see by the multitude of responses to your post we've got an amazing community here that are quick to provide assistance and answer questions.

We're all looking forward to some good press for BYC in your article!
