That sure is a pretty picture - mine at 2 weeks are not very pretty right now, as they are outgrowing their feathers and fuzz and have a lot of pink skin showing. they are still running around like chicks tho and cute.
it was colder last night, so had to put up a 3rd heat lamp, but it did expand their sitting/running area, so i'll keep it up and just raise them as needed.
what the DH did for electric in the coop was run a heavy duty extension cord plugged in at the garage thru a length of water pipe and buried it about 5" deep across the yard - then cut the end off and wired it into a electric outlet. Easy, cheap, and fast hook up and works well.
i'll have to see if i can get the purina chow,
TSC here sells Dumor, but my eggers don't seem to like it much and I have been thinking about changing to something else. Maybe they just like the cracked corn and sunflower treats better, but I don't want them to ignore the regular feed waiting for treats.
i do have a problem of getting attached to my chickens - and am glad that we have someone else to process them. I know that I can't do it, and applaud everyone else that can.
