We recently switched from Scratch and Peck to a crumble. There's a ton of powdered crumble in the bag of the new crumbles, and I'm wondering if anyone has any flock block type recipes to use it up. I think I'll go with pellets next time and hope they have less powder. My birds won't eat powder. I also thought about making a dry mash with it and offering it that way. I'm not interested in fermenting it.

You could just make a wet mash, they'll probably eat it up. I've never made a flock block, but I'll be interested to see what people come up with. And yeah, pellets usually have much less dust in the bottom.

I just cleaned out my feeder today. 20180528_114057.jpg . I clean it after I finish a bag, about 2 months in the summer.
I let the feeder get nearly empty and dump the powdery feed into two large coffee cans.
I use that feed to make a wet mash daily till gone.
I use refrigerator water on 90 degree days. 20180705_135526.jpg . They love it. GC

My chickens don't like the oatmeal or yogurt consistency so I add it to scrambled eggs as a treat also add it when making high fat Suet Cakes in the winter. I can get the picky one to eat anything in a yummy Suet Cake.
