They will have 1/2 acer to free range, she will have 2-3 bantam chickens, and I have been using chicken wire for quite a while with no problems. A bottom cabinet unit is about 3x5x3 so they will have plenty of space. This has been well thought out I was just running the idea of the cabinet unit past others for good ideas. We dont have a big predator problem here in the city. If you have any ideas for this please share them

Sounds good. My 3x6x3.5 is happily shared by 3 bantams and 7 regulars, totally defying the conventional thinking. Kitchen cabinet, furniture crate, pallets, whatever, the chickens will be happy to live in it.

When I first read your post, I thought you were saying that you set your mother-in-law up to live with the chickens. I was like, "OH NO"! That's what happens when you read too fast. I had to go back and re-read it V-E-R-Y S-L-O-W.

That sounds great, I had visualized just one cupboard. Obviously what you have planned sounds perfect.
And banties aren't very big like my Sumo Wrestler hens. LOL. And lots of room to range, they should be some happy lil' girls.
