found some nice exterior paint. Miss tinted 5 gal for $50. 75% off MSRP. It's obviously grey so I'm going to do a barn look with grey and white or black trim. Any thoughts?

Got the roof completed. Just need to seal the screw holes. The whole inside is painted as well to protect the wood. Tomorrow I put in the main cleaning access door, install and paint the trim, build two chicken wire windows, install the linoleum, build the run, and hopefully have enough lumber for the door of the run

What a beautiful job!

We recently replaced out deck flooring, I'm hoping to use the boards to expand my run.

Nice job! as for your windows.. use hardware cloth screwed and washered down, no chicken wire.. it's not pred proof!

Like this stuff, use it on all my windows(openings) then attached it with screws and washers.

We did our first chicken coop using old deck wood, the thing must weigh a ton.. so overbuilt but at least it won't blow away!

That's what I'm hoping for, possibly making it through a hurricane. Thanks for the hardware cloth tip! I'll snag some tonight.

Ok so, the maintenance door has been completed, the main window is completed, all I need to do is cut two windows on the side with the chicken access door, make the storm covers for the windows, seal the roof screw holes, run 2 more corner pieces of trim, install the roost, build the run, finish the automatic water system, and build the ramp for the chickens. Sounds like a lot, but 90% done!! At least the chickens will be in tomorrow once the windows and the roost is installed. I'll just prevent access to the run until its complete...
