Mini Encyclopedia of Chicken Breeds and Care: A Color Directory of the Most Popular Breeds and Their Care (Mini Encyclopedia Of...) by Frances Bassom (Paperback - Sept. 25, 2009)
and this one is preorder any body have any ideas on it?
The Complete Guide to Poultry Breeds: Everything You Need to Know Explained Simply (Back-To-Basics) (Paperback

Im looking for a book that deals with breed specifics as in types and what to look for in the breed for breeding pourposes and general info overall, and health. so i know one book wont cover it all but i would like to get the best book for each area and expand as i needed. Thanks All.

I have both Storey guides you mentioned (those are great books). One I can definitely recommend is "Raising Chickens For Dummies". Not a lot of breed-specific info, but lots of great general knowledge about chickens. Also a good in-depth chapter about breeding & genetics. Available through this forum, and I've even seen it at TSC.
