Recommend An Incubator For Me

Miss P takes the cake!

I have the Brower Top Hatch and it is frustrating as....as..feathers. The temperature is all over the place. With that said, I did hatch 2 out of 2 dewlap goose eggs with it and they were shipped via eBay and are difficult eggs to hatch, despite the fluctuating temps and humidity. So I have to give it credit for that.

Brower has been supportive of the incubator, but you should use the insulator if you get it. Bought it from Cutler and they were very helpful in getting it out the same day.

I only mention this because someone else could be reading this thread for information in the future and I wanted to put in my 2 cents.

I'm not a hatching genius my any means & mine has always been stable & fuss free. But that's not right that you (or anyone else) should have to constantly mess with the temp control like that. I'd Definitely contact customer service about that. I read Tonz of reviews online & on here & there were 2 people who had probs with the temp fluctuations called customer service & got a new thermostats for theirs, & it ended up working fine. Maybe there was a bad shipment of thermostats that were installed? or maybe they're sensitive to shipping movement?

They're supposed to be electronic. I'd hate that too if that were the case. I got mine stable in just a few hrs., half the day & it was set (I put it to the lowest setting & just adjusted slowly till I got it at 99.9 . I've never had to move it since. I even have an accurate digital thermometer in mine along with the regular thermometer & it stays steady. It's laying flat so I can take the temp & humidity at egg level. It has a clip, so I clipped it to a 6inch plastic measuring stick & place it over a section of the pie turner. Sad you have problems, I Love mine.

Even with the humidity mine is easy, I just put my long straw thru one top vent plug & use my dollar store medicine syringe (has no needle) & direct the water. I put it in the outter ring for the 1st 18days, then put more water in the 'pie' pieces for more water surface when I need the humidity higher in the last days for hatching. I add water a little at a time. Usually 2 to 3tsp is approx 1 degree of humidity. I remove the pie turner & put in a circle of nonstick cupboard liner for the chicks to hatch on. (I cut a circle for the light in the middle tho). The straw still puts the water below the nonstick liner when I need to up the humidity. Everybody has their favorite due to experiences they have I guess.

Is there and incubator that holds the temp even if the temp in the room goes up or down ???

My Genesis 1588 does! My room temp. is always going up and down some, no major changes, but it does fluctuate between the low seventies to mid eighties. I've never had any problems with the temps. staying right at 100 to 101.

CONGRATS on the purchase of your new bator dangerouschicken!!! You will LOVE it!

Happy hatching!

I couldn't stand it!!...I have a Hova-bator circulated air 1583 model that has a thermostat wafer...I have never had a problem adjusting the temp from the first time I plugged it in and set it...wafers are easier incase of a break down..I've hatched over 200 chicks in it just this Spring....1583s come alot cheaper...

I cant stand mine somtimes, like this morning I got 3 different temp, 1 said 100. 1 said 95 and 1 said 97, it was holding stable at 100-101. I read about the Genesis and it said it still needs a stable room temp ??
