Recommend me your favorite chicks!

I may hatch out a batch of Speckled Sussex chicks this summer, I don't see them on offer for sale here in the local chicken groups and I think they would sell well, the chicks are so pretty!
Yes, next year I'm selling Speckled Sussex too because no one has any locally to me either.

There are many generally friendly breeds; I would recommend the Jersey Giant because they don't often go broody and they are known to be "gentle giants". You could also try Faverolles. Easter eggers and Welsummers are also usually quite friendly- they lay colorful eggs, too. But do keep in mind that even if a breed isn't known to be broody, it's still possible, and you should be prepared.
Are you planning on getting a rooster for your flock, or all female chicks?
I'm planning to get just females but if there is a guy, I won't be opposed to keeping him, as long as he's a friendly bugger :p
I'm surprised at the Jersey Giant comment, my one Jersey Giant was the only hen out of 10 I had that went broody and did so twice within a year. That said she was laid back and friendly, albeit talkative. Currently I have one JG chick and she seems just as mellow and laid back thus far.

Easter Eggers and Favorelles are both good breeds, I'm partial to EEs just because of the randomness of colors in birds and eggs, but both are great. I haven't had any experience with Welsummers, but have SLW, 2 GLW, and 2 Columbian Wyandotte chicks, they seem to be very bossy thus far (especially the one SLW as she's the oldest and the biggest and currently the boss chick) but they might mellow out when they mature.
I heard Faverolles were bullied often, so I'm not too sure about getting one. They're pretty birds though.

I'll recommend Speckled Sussex, I have one in my flock named Bella and she is a wonderful bird, very very curious, and friendly. Easy to handle and likes people but also headstrong - leader of the pack. She's not scared of anything and was the first chick to walk right up to me when I sat down in the run and jump on my knee.
How is her egg-laying ability? They lay the pretty kinda almost pink ones right?

Very small and gentle
Babies Forever!!!!
I'm tempted, because they're so cute, but I have a rowdy younger brother. I'm afraid he'll crush any smaller chickens

Can't speak to this yet because mine will be too young to lay until around September/October, but I've heard really good things about them, they were Britain's go-to dual purpose heritage breed for the longest time.

Plus that plumage pattern - mwah!! Excellent!

One Broody bird should not be used to represent the entire breed. I had a white leghorn go broody last year and 2 RSL that does not mean leghorns and RSL are commonly broody breeds.

They seem like good layers, but I also heard they're a frequent broody. But the chicks are so cute with their eyeliner! At this point I'm going to "accidentally" get too many.

I like my olive eggers and red sex links... But I do have a Delaware, Barred Rock, and Jersey Giants but they are less than a month old. So far I have not had a chicken breed that I don't like! I think most breeds are good, it's all in the breeder or where you get them plus how you handle them. If you handle them daily, they should remain human friendly.
