Hello wonderful parrot people,
Sorry to barge into your area, I'm visiting from the Peafowl department!

I'm looking for advice about something I can get to enrich the environment of two amazon parrots.
It's a *bit touchy* since they aren't my parrots, so I'm trying to tread lightly here...
If you could recommend one really entertaining thing to get these birds, what would it be?

Thank you in advance for any thoughts!

anything they can destroy safely seems to work. It amazing how fast a parrot can take a toy made of wood blocks and rope and turn it into a pile of wood chip.

Thanks for that! Is there anything a bit more long lasting that they enjoy?
Someone told me they might like those super-tough rubber dog toys...

My Sammy loves things that require "work" -- untying knots, for example. If you're in the mood to make some toys, you could take some twine and make a ball of knots around a treat. He also enjoys attacking things that make noise -- a favorite is an empty juice bottle which he'll chase along the floor. Paper towel rolls are another. Food can keep them occupied if it takes some work to get at it. A favorite of Sammy's is pomegranate -- I'll give him a quarter in his treat dish and that will keep him busy for a bit. Many parrots like the wooden clothespins without the springs. If you have safe plants in the garden that don't get sprayed with pesticides or fungicides, that's another thing they'd like destroying. I am a bit of a rose nut, so I bring Sammy faded blooms with some leaves attached when I dead-head. Hibiscus and daylilies -- not true lilies, which may be toxic -- are other favorites.

:)
