Recommended Goose Breed

Hello!!! We are thinking of getting a goose to help with the hawks and protect the chickens. Can geese be kept with sheep? What breed is the least aggressive and great at weeding and guarding? If ordering from a hatchery, would you recommend getting a pair or straight run? Thank you so much!!!!

Geese will not protect chickens, only their own kind. And a hawk can still easily take down prey much bigger than it (like a goose), because they have very sharp bills and long talons. Lots of geese are good at weeding, I think Metzer has a special variety pack of "weeder" geese.
