I keep detailed records of my hatches. I keep records on how many eggs I ordered and how many eggs arrive, who I order from and their hatch rate in a percent form. I keep records on where the eggs are in the incubator that hatch and that do not hatch. Where they are in the incubator to what order they hatch in. (I love numbers!)

I classify each in a category; Green/ Good, yellow/ Natural and Red/ Bad, each person I order my eggs from. I also have a link to their website, if they have one; Good, Natural or Bad. Everything is posted on my, personal, website that you probably will not find unless I tell you about it.

I ordered some eggs from a person on BYC ( I will not tell who!) and when they found out I keep records on my hatches they backed out of the deal and refunded my money. Not leaving me much time to find replacements, we only have one hatch a year. The reason I was given was “if all her eggs did not hatch I was going to go after her for blood.”

My question is: Am I wrong for keeping such detailed records?

Well, I don't think it's wrong to keep such a list for your own purposes, but to post it on a website? I know you said that most people would not even be able to find it unless you told them, but nonetheless it's still out there. Shipped eggs have so many variables, that I don't think it's necessarily fair to rate how well one person's eggs did, unless you could guarantee that the shipping experience was the same for each and every set of shipped eggs sent. We have no idea what a particular batch of eggs might have gone through on their way to you, accidents, storms, vindictive ex-postal worker on a rampage, etc:)

BTW, have never shipped eggs myself but have received several batches. I live in Florida and had my best hatch out of eggs from Texas and my worst from eggs sent from Michigan.

I know there are a ton of variables, I'm not out to hurt anyone I just keeping numbers. In fact my worst hatch rate 17% I just ordered two dozen eggs from and the best hatch rate 67% I will never order from again.

I see and appreciate the detailed records as necessary for your personal use. BUT..... if you are posting any personal info about the seller..... nope, that's not polite. Name, etc. should be private unless the bearer of said name decides to make it public.

If your website is so hard to find, then why bother?

Why not just use the feedback system that comes with darn near every egg selling/buying venue known?

ETA, your website was to be released to the world in July 2009?
