Hi, I am brand new to BYC and live in England.
I am quite a new bird owner and I have 4 very funny Indian Runner Ducks
One of my girls, Nigella, has been to the veys and received treatment for heavy metal poisoning. She seems to be clear of that now, poop back to normal and she is eating and drinking fine.
However she is still quite unsteady on her legs and only manages a couple of steps before falling over.
Has anyone got any idea how long full recovery takes?
    Thanks [IMG]

I haven't dealt with poisoning before. Best wishes for Nigella, and welcome to BYC!

We have not had to deal with that, either - glad you were able to get her some help. You might ask the vet if food grade activated charcoal might help scavenge any little traces that might be in her gut.

I would give her vitamins with electrolytes and probiotics once or twice a week to build her up.

And it could be something else that is a problem for her - a systemic infection, egg yolk peritonitis - were these considered by the vet?

    Hugs!
