Not sure how much traction I'll get on this, but...who else has recurring dreams? Give me a short synopsis (and please keep it BYC-friendly). I'd be interested to see how many are shared. I'll go first:

I'm driving and the brakes don't work.
I don't really get "recurring", in the sense that it's a near-identical dream over and over, but I do get recurring locations and the such in them, usually with some variation in the place.

Does anyone else have the teeth-falling-out dreams?
Not any more, but I used to dream that my teeth were loose in my head and rolling around like boulders! 🤣 And this was back when I still had all my teeth and no cavities! 🤷🏽‍♀️ Maybe I was grinding them in my sleep.

I think recurring can cover locations, themes, events, etc. So it counts! What sort of locations, if you don't mind sharing?
I'll wake up and double check the words in my dream with what I know I do know, and am often surprised to find that the Greek was correct. I don't know Greek, I just hear it at certain points of the Liturgy.
Okay, this is pretty cool. Your brain's absorbing all that Greek, whether you intend to or not!

I'm a teeth grinder, so maybe it is related!

Does anyone have any puns in their dreams? I don't mean a joke, just a word/sound that could mean more than one thing.

A friend and I used to discuss dreams and she told me about a friend of hers who had a "pun dream" that led to her remembering a childhood trauma.

The friend goes into her bedroom at her childhood home, and the band from her high school is having practice in there. She woke up thinking, "We shouldn't have band practice in my bedroom."

Well, it wasn't "band" practice. It was "banned" practice.

I woke up laughing my head off one night. I have to make up a three-syllable name here so I can share the joke. Let's say my last name at the time was, uh, Benjamin. In my dream I had obtained a beautiful palomino horse and I was petting and stroking it and trying to think of a name for it. Suddenly it struck me, the perfect name! I would take our last name and insert the word "whicker" in the middle, for the friendly sound a horse makes when it talks to you. It's not a neigh, it's a whicker. So the horse's name, I decided, would be (drum roll, please!)

Mr. BenWhickerjamin! This was so absurd that Real Me cracked up that Dream Me thought this was a good idea! I laughed so hard I woke up not only myself but also DH#1 and for a long time could not catch my breath to tell him what was so funny! In fact, I scared him bc he thought I was crying!

I also have recurring locations. Usually, there's something odd about it. Like there's one house that has a small door to the attic, but once you're in there, it's a maze of rooms, much bigger than the house itself. These locations are so familiar, I even recognize them in my dreams. They are not anywhere I've ever been.

I also had recurring nightmares when I was a kid and had fevers. Those were scary. One was going down a covered slide and coming out with rainbow paint on me. Another was having little gnome-like creatures bloodlessly whittling pieces off my feet under a table. And one was short microphone stands all around my bed, each topped with a pair of scissors.
