I read recently that it has to be absolutely dark for us to dream, and that's hard to come by. If there's a computer or even a clock in your room, a night light or a plug in room deodorizer, that's too much light. So I got one of those sleep masks and sure enough, I dream now and I didn't before. My sleep is more restorative and I don't wake up hung over from poor sleep.

What about having no dream at all?

I occasionally have no dreams, I thought....did I not go anywhere in my sleep? That is just not acceptable, in life I am busy with chickens, can not go anywhere, but not going anywhere in my sleep is just simply not acceptable. 🤣
My husband rarely remembers his dreams, whereas I remember almost every single night. It's interesting how we're all different.

No kidding! I'm able to dream with multiple nightlights on, but I'm wondering if someone that doesn't dream as much would see an increase like you did. This must be tested with more subjects volunteers!

I like to have dream in my sleep, that is where I go to many places, meet people I don't want to meet, and fly up the high trees looking out to the far distance. 🤣

I have no tv, phone, music players, alarm (I got a real breathing rooster for that:lau) or any electronic devices in my bedroom except the aircondition.

When I was a kid I'd constantly dream about being in circumstances where I was forced to drive. These ramped up as I approached driving age; I've never wanted to drive, so it was always a huge source of anxiety to me. I cried when I passed my driver's test. I don't have those dreams anymore, but I still hate driving.

The other recurring dream I've had since as long as I can remember is needing to use the bathroom during a huge family and friend gathering, but the only toilet is situated smack dab in the middle of the kitchen. I usually wake up before being driven to use the toilet, but sometimes I get to the point to where I'm actually sitting on the toilet and everyone is looking at me with disgust on their faces.

I don't have recurring dreams per say, but they're always in our old apartment and neighborhood.

We've moved twice since then, a second apartment for about 4 years, then the house we bought 6-7 years ago.

I end up waking up and having to look around and make sure I'm in the right place.

I have that need to go to toilet dream too, when I wake up my bladder is bursting...I think our body create this dream while we sleep and the bladder is full. I always run around looking for the toilet and they are always full, or too dirty to use, or can not be found....I imagine if I actually do it in my dream, ..I will be back to being a child again wet my bed. 🤣 so it is good that you did not get to do it.

I have these too. The old middle-of-the-room toilet with no privacy! 😭

Yep! If it gets to the point where I'm actually about to go in my dream I wake up in a panic and feel all around the bed for any wetness. So far so good, but like you, I'm sure dream bladder and real bladder are in cahoots.
