I read recently that it has to be absolutely dark for us to dream, and that's hard to come by. If there's a computer or even a clock in your room, a night light or a plug in room deodorizer, that's too much light. So I got one of those sleep masks and sure enough, I dream now and I didn't before. My sleep is more restorative and I don't wake up hung over from poor sleep.
My room has a bit of light coming in from the outside but I still dream a lot.

What about flying? @SkyAJK mentiined flying in her dreams, does anyone else fly in their dreams? I have a few times and it is so wonderful! I just take a little bouncy step and then there I am, soaring above everything effortlessly, like a kite or a bird! I love this dream except for the landings, which are still a little bit rough. Guess I need more practice! It feels so real and natural that I am always surprised afterward to realize I can't really fly!

When I was a kid I'd constantly dream about being in circumstances where I was forced to drive. These ramped up as I approached driving age; I've never wanted to drive, so it was always a huge source of anxiety to me. I cried when I passed my driver's test. I don't have those dreams anymore, but I still hate driving.

The other recurring dream I've had since as long as I can remember is needing to use the bathroom during a huge family and friend gathering, but the only toilet is situated smack dab in the middle of the kitchen. I usually wake up before being driven to use the toilet, but sometimes I get to the point to where I'm actually sitting on the toilet and everyone is looking at me with disgust on their faces.
After our first move I was half asleep and got up to go pee. I "woke up" in the closet wondering why clothes were hung all over the bathroom. Thankfully I woke up before I peed on the floor.

In our old apartment the door on the right led to the hallway and bathroom. They were switched in the new house. I put glow in the dark stickers on the bathroom door and it never happened again.

I have to partially lucid dream to fly (which is rare), but it’s amazing when I do! 🦅

Not really “dreaming” but I sometimes am half asleep and experience a rocking motion making me think I’m on a boat.

Yes, like you I fly in my dreams many years ago..and the landing woke me up because I land by hitting the ground hard, it woke me up and it hurt.

Could this type of dream be saying something where we are in our lives?
