Recurring pasty butt

We picked up our chick on Thursday and every day I'm having to clean her bottom for pasty butt. She is eating and drinking but her vent is very swollen. I did a warm bath this morning (warm water only) and soaked her bottom, cleaned her up, and she relieved herself. She's been having trouble going and "cries" like it hurts when she tries to poop. Any suggestions for a permanent fix? I've also given her Hydro-Hen 3n1.

How hot is your brooder, both hot and cool areas?

You can try dabbing a little vaseline or oil on the vent to see if that minimizes some of the poop clogging.

It is 90. I've tried Vaseline but doesn't seem to help. I have gone from a heat lamp to a heat plate. All the other chicks are fine thankfully.

Hopefully the heat plate helps, since it'll concentrate the heat in one area and the rest of the brooder will provide relief from the heat source.
