Recycle wreaths into the run for chickens?

I have a couple of evergreen wreaths that have lasted through the holiday season. As I start to put the house back to rights, is it okay to toss these into the chicken run? Will they eat it or should I just take them straight to the compost heap?

Compost! They shouldn't eat it and if you stick it in there they might.
