My wife and I found this old dog house not being used in a neighbors yard, so we stopped and asked him if he wanted to sell it. He ended up giving it to us for free as the house was given to him and he doesn't have a dog. Below are the results so far. I am finishinging up some details on the house today and will build the run to go with it.

The first thing I did was put it on wheels so it is movable by one person.

I then turned a wall into a door for egg collection and coop cleaning

Hung and reinforced the roosts

Saturday I framed out the dog door, made it a chicken door and put a door out it no pictures of the smaller door yet.

My wife has the first coat of paint on it, and I have the first panel for the run made she will paint that too. Hopefully we will be done with it by tomorrow night and can get our chickens in the next day or two.

Man, judging from the size of your trailer, that must have been one big dog...

My husband sure would have been happy to find something as awesome as this *and for free*... Way to go!

Love the casters! And the wood looks old, hard and heavy. Sooooo lucky!

Have fun -

Thanks for all the replies. The chicken house and trim is painted. The frames for the run is in the process of being painted by my wife, so I can add the wire to the frames and assemble them together. Hopefully we will be done with it. I will post pictures of when it's finished. (hopefully tomorrow.)
