Leghorns have a gene called rapid feathering (k+). f one puts barring onto a leghorn, & maintaining the rapid feathering, the bird's barring will be blurred; that effect is known as cuckoo.
A barred rock has the late feathering gene (K). pet quality barred rocks have barring but it is a bit uneven.
If one puts the columbian restrictor genes (Co) onto the pet quality barring, the barring will become crisp & even; exhibition quality barring.
I for got to tell you this. I crossed that roo that I had that looked like yours with this little hen below( She is a silkie cross with what looks like a brahma) But anyway their chicks turned out to look like the mother or kind of like a NHR. Don't know if it will help just thought I'd tell you.
This is the hen (she is a great broody, those are BC Marans chicks that she hatched)
