Hello! I have two red bourbon turkeys purchased from a local feed store in september making them 8 weeks old. I'm dying to know the sex, it may be too early to tell but any guesses would be very much appreciated.

That's what I figured. When is a good time to be able to sex them so I can post updated photos then? I have no experience with turkeys lol

At least 3 months old. Some late bloomers require up to 6 months old.

Once they have their mature feathers, Bourbon Reds can be easily sexed from their breast feathers. The adult breast feathers of a hen will have a light colored lower edge and the adult breast feathers of a tom will have a dark or black colored lower edge. The immature breast feathers of both males and females will have a light colored lower edge.
