Hi there...I am a new one year chicken owner....all hens....Buff Orphington, cream legbar, olive Egger, Easter Egger, golden laced Wyandotte & black copper marens. everything has been going well except for the last month a few of them started losing feathers but most of them stopped and they grow back. It was around there but area. My one black copper Marans has continued to lose feathers on her but it is very red. Nothing that looks like Q-tips on the ends of the feathers, some feathers are starting to grow back but mostly not. I’ve been reading about possibly text or mites. I did buy diatomaceous earth and blue kite this weekend. What should I do?

Hello and welcome to BYC! :frow Glad you joined.
How much space do you have in your setup?
How many birds?
What are you feeding them?
You can apply pine tar to their red skin. It not only acts as a pecking deterrent but also helps heal the area.
