Hi, is anyone here familiar with or own any Red Caps? I can't find much info on them. There aren't many photos of them on feathersite and there is a lack of info/photos for them elsewhere online. Does anyone have any photos of the hens? How big do the hens' combs get? Are they good layers? What kind of temperment do they have? Are they docile - would they do well in a mixed flock? I would appreciate any feedback about this breed - esp. any photos.

Thanks!

Yes, I had seen both of those listings plus everything else available I could find online, incl some photos of a flock in England. What I can't seem to find are any good photos of the hens. It's weird that I can't seem to find any. I don't want to go by the drawings you see in the poultry catalogs - those are never really true to form, as we all know. According to the drawings, the hens have those same huge combs the cockerels do and I'm so curious to know if they really do develop those same huge combs. I have to say, I'm intrigued by this 'mysterious' breed now. I'm eager to know if anyone has received any from MM or Ideal, perhaps as their special bonus rare-breed chick or in a rare-breed assortment. Any photos of those elusive red cap hens anyone?
