RED chick grit????!!!

So I picked up a bag of chick grit today when I was getting some more crumbles. I didn't think anything of it, the bag said "Chick Grit Crushed Granite". I opened it up, and it's RED

!!!! I looked at the ingredients, "Ground Granite, Anise, Red Color (Iron Oxide)". WTH?! Is that to make them peck at it more or something? I don't think I want to give it to them. I think the brand is "Nutri Source". Anyone used this before?

yes, every chick grit pkg i've had (well, i've only had chickens for a little over a yr now)....but every pkg i've had has been red. i JUST bought another bag of chick grit cuz the feed store didn't have any grit for the older girls....so i bought chick grit and i was surprised to find that the grit was white this time. i got so use to the red. my chicks and older girls never had a problem with red....but in my mind....i would rather have white too!

I have had red granite, gray granite and white granite. There are many different colors of granite.
