Our chicks are a little over 3 weeks now and I've recently noticed that our little EE's comb is starting to turn red. Is this a bad sign, gender wise? Here's a picture... What do you guys think?

Some hens have combs too, my favorelles do. That looks like a hen to me, but it is still young. I would give it a couple more weeks.

It looks like a pullet. If it reddens a lot during the next 2-3 weeks, check for roo. I vote pullet however.

All chickens have combs (except for breda); it is just that roo combs tend to develop earlier than their sisters' do.

red at 3 weeks is a good sign of a cockeral, but not a definite sign. Wait a few more weeks and post more pics
