You can walk it in or ship it. I've done it both ways.
Keep it refrigerated in the meantime.
If you call them, they may send you a FedEx label.
Every state varies on cost. I know in California it is free and in Missouri it is just under $100 for a complete workup. They will advise you.
It is worth it to me to know exactly what killed a valuable bird and whether others are in danger or medication is indicated.
I line a small box with Styrofoam sheets and put a freezer pack in the box.
 
I would be interested to know what caused the death too. Never have seen anything that would cause that. Im guessing something internally wrong like a birth defect.
