Red face?

If your "red face" chicken is acting normal; eating and drinking and going about her business I think you should not worry. I have 30 chickens and some of them get red faces and some don't. If you watch your hen for a while, her face will turn pale eventually and then red again. I have three or four hens that do that often and it is always when it is very hot outside.

My girls aren't laying yet, and all have light red faces. Every night my 2 yr old daughter insists on scooping the feed in the feeder. The chickens can see her doing this, but are still confined in their tractor. She takes her time, what feels like an eternity to the chickens I'm sure. They go crazy jumping, clucking, and their faces turn bright red!! Every single night....it's quite entertaining
