I will add to my statement a bit. Thinking back, I do recall seeing a hen's feet that had a little color on a wet, frigid cold day. And I've noted redness between the toes when a hen has a case of bumblefoot. Otherwise, I never have noted any redness in a hen's feet that I remember.
ETA: December 11-well, shut my mouth, I did see red down the sides of a 17 week old pullet's legs today. She has yellow legs and is a Delaware colored pullet-her parents were both barred, but were each 1/2 Delaware themselves. Never saw that before, so I stand corrected, it can happen on females to some degree. Maybe she's just weird, after all, she should have been barred, LOL.
