red fox...

I had posted some days back asking what predators were in my area...(virginia, new river area)
anyway,
today my guineas were raising a real fuss....went out to see what was wrong...I see a red fox in the back field...
went back in the house, came back outside, and on the third try, the fox dropped of lead poisoning!!

my guineas gathered closer to him, encircling him, closer and closer...well, you get the idea...

I was only trying to protect the guineas, ducks, chickens and peacock...

Lead poisoning, too funny. I am glad your flock is safe. Guineas are great guards. Where is New River though??

gonna be some trappers busy around you starting November 15 I have gotten rid of a few this summer for homeowners one was trying to get in the pet door

I am near Va beach I lived in Amherst for a while I may have been fishing once or twice in the new river seems like I got to fish the cow pasture a coupla times too

New River Valley of Virginia...
I am in the South Western corner...2 miles off the Blue Ridge Parkway
and about 15 miles north of North Carolina border...

and no, I wasn't aware of that site...
