While free ranging in my backyard, one hen was attacked by a red tail hawk. Lost some feathers, but escaped. Her leg has been broken somewhere around the knee (?), but she is still eating and drinking and wants to be in the yard with the other birds. Is there a way to bandage up her leg to keep her? I only have six and they are just starting to lay, and, have become part of the family. Any advice would be appreciated. What to do?

You could splint it with popsicle sticks and tape it to her leg very well.

Never tried it, just an idea.

I hope she gets better!!

If you try to splint it, put some cotton or other soft material under the sticks, and then check it every day or 2 to make sure it is not rubbing a raw spot and opening an entry for infection.
