red jungle fowl vs hawk

how would a red jungle fowl act to a hawk attack would they fly or run

If they had the chance they would try to run for cover underneath something.

For some reason red jungle fowl have for me been more vulnerable to red-tailed hawks than either American Games or American Dominiques. Smaller size of red jungle fowl is part of reason but during interactions I did see the red jungle fowl failed to use cover effectively, at least patches sought by the domestic birds of same flock. Despite the red jungle fowl being better fliers and faster runners than either domestic breed they were not able to out fly hawk that had jump on them. Red Jungle Fowl were very good against Mr. Fox.
