Red Jungle Fowl

If I have English and Irish, I'd be a mixed breed right? Even if its .00000003

That's the problem, is someone mixes a bird, say for instance someone had a Blue Marans and it got mixed. Well then someone hatched those eggs, they was a mixed, so they bred a pure rooster to them to try and make them pure, turns out they started looking pure, until one hatching the mixed came out again, it's never a true breed. They can pop out generations later. In my book it's pure or its not

By the way someone took me on some Blue Marans doing that. It looked true until it matured and now it has a chocolate tint, needless to say, it's just going to be an egg layer. No breeder there.

Try http://forum.backyardpoultry.com?  It's a chicken forum geared for folks in Australia.  There was some discussion about  junglefowl on there not too long ago.  Might be better source for leads to birds with red junglefowl appearences.

Yeah I'll check it out. That's where I got the idea from in the first place.

Cool, and good luck. Not easy to find true, pure red junglefowl in the US either. They're around for sure, just really hard to find breeders and then find one willing to part with some. The hatcheries out here do sell 'red junglefowl' but they actually are domestics.

Pure ones are so very beautiful, wish I was able to consider keeping pure line here.
