We have chick starter, and I’ve convinced him to try it. I’ll try to get my hands on fish. The guys at the boat ramp toss the discarded fish cleaning & left over bait, so I'm thinking you could feed just about anything. However, commercial chicken feed has all the nutritional value a chicken needs. You could keep him on Chick Starter but that maybe pricer than if you switch to Flock Raiser, All Purpose, Multi Flock, Grower, Game Bird but not Scratch which is a treat & low in nutrition. Your guy is used to fending for himself, thinking bugs, worms & fruit so you'll have to go slow introducing feed to him.
It makes no difference there. Just make certain he is back in good weight..So you aren't planning on keeping him, you were just rehabilitating him?
@centrarchid what do you think releasing him?
So if he is in good shape, he will basically just integrate himself with the other wildIt makes no difference there. Just make certain he is back in good weight..
