I have often wondered about a bantam "meat bird" project... Of course that will have to wait until I get done with my Del projects. Which I don't see happening anytime soon..

So many idea's .. so many "what ifs" .. so few pens .. so few hours.. and HOLY COW @ the price of feed. ... lol

BT-sounds like you have the right attitude! welcome

exactly, really wondering here what the bantam cornish roo crossed with 2 of Halo's "beautiful, wide-bodied, chunky, low-rider, egg a day, Blue Rocks" would produce...

well, lets see we have Ms. Wide and Ms. Low, we have a pen, we have a bantam roo (mr. david banner- note the name change), we have an incubator...

we have the technology...

I would love to see pics of your bantam Hulk [aka David Banner] and Halo's Blue Rocks.

This is actually "Marion", she is from Marion County. 1 generation ahead of Ms. Low and Ms. Wide. Young Mr. Splash is behind her.

I know I am in the meat bird section and we don't name the meat birds, these are our layers.

She looks like most of my layers.... bald in the dome!

i think we can classify that at male pattern baldness. It is a bad habit (pattern) of male chickens

You should see my Buckeye hen! Poor girl.

Seriously, love the color on the Wheaten, she is a beauty!

I am surprised you can get away with that large opening wire fence you have. Do you lock them up every night?

Thanks, I do think Larry Gardner has some very nice birds. I got very lucky, he lives around the corner from my in-laws.
I stopped by for a lesson in Ameraucanas and he gave me the bird for the layer flock.
He has a very nice place, top notch, not to mention his red angus...
