Model A, I'll use my own DC, pictured nearing 11 months, even though he's too light framed to be a really good show bird, as a visual reference to what I little I know to look for. His breast is prominent, broad, deep, and projects well past the front of the wings. The entire keel is embedded in flesh, with the lowest part of his underline well forward. His body is compact, slopes upwards towards the front, well rounded outwards, with slightly convex back. His neck is the correct medium length and nice arch, the hackles short and just reaching the base of the neck His head is short as called for.................. but should be flatter and wider at the top and more projection over the top of the eye.................. but he has the fairly tight comb, wattles small and without texture, short, thick and curved beak that are desired. His shanks are round and moderate in length, as called for, but should be stouter, and the legs could be farther apart, with larger feet. His feathering is short, narrow, and fits close to the body. Had this guy been heavier framed and headed, I'm sure I would not have got him bought.
His month older brother was better framed and headed, but long beaked [nearly hawk beaked], not nearly as nice plummage, not as correct in the neck carriage, and actually a bit too long in the toes to suit me [with some nail trimmimg, I bet the judges would have liked them, but the other roo is was closer to a show bird IMO]. He lost the tip of the outer toes to frostbite, and overgrown toe nails are causing the middle to curl as he walks.

Well, I know the correct answer to the question is "yes". I would be fibbing if I acted like I knew what they were talking about.
I am sure, years from now, some of the words will come back and whisper sweetly to me and some will come back and smack me upside the head.
I am very impressed with the birds, breast size, stockiness, plumage, coloring, that WLR bird's shanks look like lou ferrigno forearms- thats all I know how to say to sound smart. and then I think its smarter to just say you don't know.
learn something new everyday around the way. I do know we have 8 bantam cornish chicks, whose colors may be off, they got a decent start on genes.
I know I can take pictures pretty well and post em pretty well, I will keep doing that and ya'll tell me what ya think of the birds and we will go from there.
