She is the only chicken who has it i inspected the rest of my girls. The ground in the run is extremely saturated rn theirs not much i can do about that right now considering its been raining pretry much non stop the last 2 weeks and were expecting another 3 inches in 2 days.. here are some photos any help.wojld be appreciated. Also no cuts, marks or.hard bumps.on her feet so i think bumble foot is out so.im thinking the amonia build up thing or maybe somwthing else idk.

Hi! Are you sure this isn’t a rooster? Rooster legs will get red especially along the sides. Would you mind attaching a picture of the entire chicken?

This is bumble foot. If you have suspicion it could be it, please wash the bottom of her feet and attach a photo and see if it looks like this. Keep in mind bumblefoot comes in stages and this is a more extreme stage. At early stages it doesn’t have a plug/core but it develops the worse it gets.

Bumble foot can develop easily if chickens are constantly on moist/wet straw.

I dont think its bumble foot i inspectedher foot yesterday and nothing like this was present anywhere no swelling no cuts. Abrasions twnderness etc. She is deffinitely not a rooster shes a couple weeks away from a year old lol. No saddle feather lays eggs like a champ. Im consierned its amonia burns but shes the only chickens with redder feet/legs than normal no.one else has it. And theirs not alot i can do about the wet run right now due to all the rain weve been getting alot of landscapers near me wont even stock any natural wood chips because of the rain. She was trying to sit on legs a while back so i was wondering maybe hormones due to ppssible broodiness but idk.

Hi! What i mean is try to avoid bedding getting soaked, i’m not sure how your coop is set up, but i keep all my bedding indoors so it doesn’t get wet.

That shouldn’t effect it, my broody hens legs never changed color, and especially if she didn’t go the full 21 days for hatching, i don’t see why that would be the cause.

My next thought would be maybe the ammonia and how wet it is? Can you please tell more about their living conditions?
Is it covered so little rain gets in? Is there straw mixed in where the water comes through?

Maybe @Wyorp Rock would have some information on what this could be.

Could be hormones.
Is she acting normal?

If the litter is staying really wet all the time, you may need to make a place where the birds can get off the dampness. Some straw bales to stand on or even a platform with shavings that are kept dry.

So all their bedding i use hemp i side the coop is dry but out side their run is dirt and sand and because of all the supper storms weve had lately its all wet, ive tried turning over the dirt ad much as possible but unfortunately i can only do so much it never really has time to dry out before it starts pouring again. The run is mostly covered with the sides slightly exposed. I dont have transpoetatio for straw bails or id get them. And just a little straw wont do it ive been trying to get wood chips to cover but none od the nurserys, land scape places have it in bulk to deliver becaus eof the weather their not caring it.

I dont have anything in the run dry right now except a couple of roosting bars but i do have the inside coop which is an attached 8 by 8 tuff shed thats fully dry and hemp bedding thats clean and dry. Were getting record amounts of rain where i live in ca right now and everything juat keeps flooding out without any signs of stopping. Adding a little straw would just make more of a mess at this point. Im hopeing shen this weather kinda calms down i couls get some wood chipa or something idk. Even if i were to buy more dry dirt/ top soil from home depot ita just gonna get wet again. Not to mention only one chicke. Has the reddish feet the rest of my girls seem perfectly fine. Thats why i thought maybe broody. I can get better photos tomorrow but its suppose to pour so its gonna look worse than it was today.
