Red mite

Found I had red mite (boy it makes your skin creep) I have pressure washed the coop, covered the entire coop in neat bleach, am getting some [FONT=Verdana, Arial, Helvetica, sans-serif]permetherin in the morning. Dosed the hens with de. They are al fresco in the cat run tonight. Anything else I should do?[/FONT]

Retreat at 7 days because of the life cycle. Make sure all bedding even in the nest boxes is tossed (this is vital).

Be sure to treat under roosts and in crevices.

Re bleached the coop some of the hens are sleeping in it, two are in the side coop and several just refused to go into either. As soon as I opened the cat run door they all ran in and then stood with a confused look, it is raining now and they can hear rain but not feel it (the cat run is covered) not going to force them the coop is going to be hacked down and the run is going to be put on a garden shed that will be converted to a coop.

The bleach smell may be lingering. Letting it air out will help.
